Kendra Brens, Executive Director, InterActive Academy Gymnastics
Kendra, who holds a Bachelor of Science in Recreation from Indiana University, has been involved with gymnastics for over 15 years.   Kendra is a former college cheerleader from Indiana University, where she also taught summer camps for Universal Cheerleaders Association.  She is KAT (Kinder Accreditation for Teachers Certification) and MELPD (Movement Education & Lesson Plan Development) certified. She has experience coaching gymnastics, cheerleading, and aerobics.  Kendra, who has two children of her own, loves helping children build their confidence and self-esteem through physical activities.

Barb Weaver, Interactive Academy Executive Director, Cheer Director
Barb has a BS in Elementary Education and a Masters in Early Childhood from Indiana State University. She has taught Kindergarten and 2nd grade and has over 27 years of experience teaching gymnastics, dance and cheerleading. She retired from Tumble Express after 25 years to be closer to her family and home in Zionsville. In the fall of 2006, Barb began teaching at InterActive Academy. Since 1994 Barb has owned Fitness & Fun Gymnastics on the SE side of Indy. She has been married to husband, Mike, for 10 years and they have 2 sons at PVE and a daughter in Pre-K at InterActive Academy. Her goal is to help each child achieve his/her academic and physical goals while having fun.

Beth Michalak, Preschool Gymnastics Director, Ballet Teacher
Beth Michalak has been teaching Physical Education at the Academy for 4 years. She attended Ball State University and graduated with a degree in Physical Education as well as Adapted Physical Education. Beth has studied dance all through her youth and college life. She continues to share her passion of movement by teaching the ballet classes for the IAG Recreation Program along with the ballet classes for the Girls Gymnastic Team. Beth is proud to have recently taken on the role as the Director of Preschool Gymnastic for IAG. Along with her enthusiasm for IAG she is a member of the Zionsville United Methodist Church. Beth lives in Whitestown with her husband and 2 children, Mack and Delaney. Her family is excited to be adding another addition to the family this August.

Susan Cheung, Recreational Program Coordinator
Sue started in gymnastics at a very early age and competed for 6 years for local gyms and was also involved in cheerleading for several years. At age 15, she started her first coaching position instructing girls from ages 5-14 on tumbling. After attending Ball State University, Sue worked as a secretary/ administrative assistant/inside support for 9 years while having 3 sons of her own. After the realization of how much she missed the sport of gymnastics, Sue began coaching for Columbus Gymnastics Center instructing from pre-school age through the advanced level with some assisting on the pre-team and level 4 team for 3 years before moving back to the Indianapolis area. She has been with Interactive since May of 2001. Sue loves teaching the kids at Interactive!!!

Michelle teaches in the Mom’s Day Out Classes and coordinates the Parents Night Out program.  She has an Elementary Education degree from Anderson University.  Michelle lives in Zionsville with her husband and 3 children.

Kelly Miller, Mom's Day Out Teacher
Kelly has been working with the early childhood population for over 12 years and holds a degree in Child Development and Special Education. She has two daughters at home, ages 7 and 9, who attend schools in Carmel. She enjoys working in the Mom’s Day Out and Parent’s Night Out programs at Interactive Academy and is excited to promote active learning with fitness.

Melissa Wilkinson, Office Manager, Birthday Party Coordinator
Melissa lives out in Thorntown, IN with her husband and two sons. She grew up in Indianapolis and attended Ball State University where she majored in Early Childhood Education. She has worked in education and as an administrative assistant for many years. Melissa has been with InterActive for over 4 years now and is in charge of the Birthday Parties and the Front Desk. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her family, scrapbooking, and walking outdoors.

Erika Lewis, Gymnastics/Cheer Coach, Account Manager
Erika began to foster her love for gymnastics through eight years of cheerleading. During this time, she competed through the Universal Cheerleaders Association and the National Cheerleaders Association. Erika has been drawn back to the gym through her two daughters who are members of the IAG girls artistic team and pre-team. Erika is fulfilling her passion of helping children develop their confidence and self-esteem through teaching gymnastics, Sunday school, coaching soccer and cheerleading.

Jeff Greene, Boys Team Program Director, Head Coach
Jeff has been teaching gymnastics for over thirty years. He has coached several State and Regional Champions, National Competitors, and gymnasts who have received University Scholarships. In addition, he has coached gymnasts on to the Junior National Team and gymnasts who have gone on to the Senior National Team. In addition to his extensive experience in coaching Boy's gymnastics, Jeff has coached girls through the Elite Level. He received a B.S. degree in Education from the University Of Saskatchewan in Canada where he competed successfully, receiving titles such as Western Canadian University Rings Champion and Canadian National Rings and High Bar Champion Open Division. Jeff is currently a member of USA Gymnastics and is Safety Certified.

Bo Morris, Boy's Team Assistant Coach
Bo has over 20 years experience in coaching gymnastics. He has been a club owner, program director, head coach, developmental program director, meet director and judge. He previously coached in Louisiana and Texas. He served as the Louisiana state chairman for 7 years and on the Texas Executive Board of Directors for 3 years. Many of his athletes have won state and regional championships and qualified for JO Nationals many times. Many of these boys have gone on to compete at universities across the U.S. One of the boys, Daniel Furney, is currently the assistant coach at the University of Oklahoma. He earned a Bachelor of Arts in Education from Louisiana Tech University. Prior to working at Interactive Academy, Bo worked for the national governing body, USA Gymnastics as the Men’s Program Manager from 2001 to 2005. With responsibilities of overseeing all aspects of the Men’s Junior Olympic Program in the United States; with primary duties of managing the Junior Olympic National Championships and the prestigious Academic All-American award program. He also worked in support of the 2003 World Championships and 2004 Olympic Trials as well as all Men’s Winter Cups and U.S. Championships from 2001 -2005. Ashley Kendall, Girls Team Program Director & Head Coach
Ashley has been involved with gymnastics for the last 12 years and been coaching for 7. She started gymnastics when she was 6 years old and began competing at age 9.  She competed at the optional level in USGF and was a 4 year varsity gymnast at Connersville High School.  While obtain her degree in Business Administration at the University of Southern Indiana, she was apart of a girls cheerleading squad. As a team they team took fourth at the National Level.  Ashley has coached levels 4 through 8 and is now part of Interactive Academy Gymnastics super tots, level 1’s, and recreational program.   She is so excited to motivate and inspire gymnasts of all ages to have fun.

Cheri Gibson, Gymnastics Instructor, Girls Team Coach
Cheri received her Bachelor's Degree in Physical Education K-12 from Ball State University.  She competed for 4 years at Ball State with a gymnastic scholarship.  Cheri has been teaching pre-school, recreational, and competitive teams since 1982. Cheri is KAT certified (Kinder Accreditation for Teachers), member of USA Gymnastics, and is Safety Certified.  Cheri also judged competitive gymnastics for 15 years, and has coached competitive teams 4-10 with several State, Regional, and National champions through the years.  Cheri and her husband Steve, who was also a gymnast, have 4 children and 3 grandchildren and love to spend time with them and enjoy the outdoors.

Kelsey Nichol, Gymnastics Instructor, Girls Team Coach
Kelsey started gymnastics at the age of three. She was a competitive gymnast for seven years. She enjoyed success at the state championship level. She also has four years of cheerleading experience and is on the Chatard High School Varsity squad. Kelsey loves working with little kids and helping them improve their gymnastics skills while they have fun. She has been teaching summer camps, birthday parties, preschool classes, recreational classes, cheerleading, and pre-team at Interactive Academy Gymnastics for over a year.

Stephanie Klemme, Gymnastics Instructor, Girls Team Coach

Stephanie has been involved in gymnastics for 20 years.  She competed USAG for 8 years (finished as a Level 9 gymnast), and was a high school varsity gymnast for 4 years.  She was a high school state qualifier, Olympic Conference Uneven Bar Champion, and was named to the Academic All-Conference.  Her high school team was ranked in the top 5 high schools in the state for 3 years, Sectional Champs (4years), Conference Champs (4years), Regional Runner-up (3 years), and was undefeated in her last two high school seasons.  Stephanie attended many summer camps, including; Lake Owen, International Gymnastics Training Camp, Steve Nunno Clinic, and she also trained at Bela Karolyi’s Gym in Houston , TX for two summers, just to name a few.  Stephanie has been coaching USA Gymnastics for the past 9 years.  She has taught at many Indiana gymnastics clubs including; Connersville Gymnastics Center, Cole Academy of Gymnastics in Muncie, The Performance Academy (where she was the Head Competitive Team coach) in Muncie, and A Plus Gymnastics (where she was a competitive team coach for 2 years) in Noblesville.  Stephanie was also the Head Gymnastics Coach at Muncie Southside High School for 4 years.  Most recently she has been a Competitive Team coach and Recreational Program Director at Orlando Gymnastics and Cheer in Florida.  Stephanie is safety certified, CPR, and First Aid certified, and a USAG Professional Member.  Stephanie is excited to be at Interactive working with the girls team, interactive academy students and recreational classes.

Shawn Moore, Trampoline & Tumbling Team Coach
Shawn is the head coach of the Tumbling and Trampoline team here at Interactive, and is proud to say that he coaches three National Champions as well as many athletes with podium finishes at national competitions.  Shawn was a competitive gymnast for 3 years before switching over to T&T where he competed for six years reaching the Senior Elite level.  Shawn was a nationally ranked tumbler and trampolinist many years and was runner up for the Jr. / Sr. National Team in 2004.  Shawn is also a certified USAG trampoline and tumbling judge.  He was also a competitive cheerleader for several years and has coached a national champion cheer squad.  He cheered for one year at IUPUI, which is where he met his wife Mandy.  They are proudly expecting their first child in September.

Mandy is currently attending Indiana University Purdue University Indianapolis as a Fitness Studies Major with an expected graduation date of May of 2009. She was a cheerleader for 16 years starting at age 5 and finishing at IUPUI in 2004. Mandy has been coaching gymnastics and cheerleading for four years and competitive tumbling and trampoline since the summer of 2006. She is also a certified judge for tumbling and double-mini through USA Gymnastics. Mandy teaches many different levels of gymnasts here at Interactive from Parent-Tot classes all the way up to Level 10 Trampolinists and Tumblers. She is very ambitious about working with children because not only does she get to teach them things, but she learns something new from them everyday.

David Kelly, Taekwondo Instructor
Master David Kelly is a 5th Degree Black Belt Master of Taekwondo certified by the United States Chung Do Kwan Association (Lakeland, FL) and World Taekwondo Federation (Seoul, Korea).  He has been teaching taekwondo since 1995 and has received many awards, including being inducted into the USCDKA National Black Belt Hall of Fame.  He is a very friendly instructor and loves to teach both children and adults.

David Revis, Taekwondo Instructor
Head Instructor David Revis started Tae Kwon Do in 2001 and received his 1st Degree Black Belt in 2004 as well as his Instructor’s Degree. He has recently been awarded his 2nd Degree Black Belt and a Head Instructor’s Degree. He has been a student of Master David Kelly for several years. He is in charge of teaching the Chung Do Kids classes (ages 4-6) and helps Master Kelly teach the Tae Kwon Do class (ages 7 and up). He loves to see students learning while having fun!

Gen Speitel, Gymnastics Instructor
Gen received her B.A. in Psychology from Butler University. In addition to having been a competitive gymnast, she has taught gymnastics at several gymnastics schools. She has worked with children at the preschool level as well as athletes at various team levels. Gen has also given some gymnastics workshops in the area. Gen is KAT certified (Kinder Accreditation for Teachers) and MELPD certified (Movement Education and Lesson Plan Development). She has also completed the Patty Komara workshop.

Brad Farber, Gymnastics Coach Preschool & Recreational Gymnastics Instructor
Brad has been involved in gymnastics since 1972 as a competitor, coach and gym owner. Brad has been married for 24 years to Julie. He has 3 children – Daniel, Kayla and AJ. They have recently moved to Noblesville from Muncie where they had a large gymnastics, dance and cheer academy. Brad has worked with all levels including pre-school, special needs, girls and boys recreational and team.

Brad is also a sound technician and DJ for schools, churches and weddings as well as a bass player.

Julie Farber, Dance Director
Julie has been involved in dance, cheer, and gymnastics for nearly 40 years. She has been coaching and choreographing in her own studio for over 25 years. Her extensive experience includes preschool and recreational as well as award winning competitive groups. Julie loves dance because it is an art form that combines heartfelt expression with athletic ability and it is so much fun to do.

Kayla Farber, Dance Teacher
Kayla has been involved in dance for 18 years. She is an award winning gymnast, cheerleader, and dancer who knows all aspects of dance including tap, hip hop, jazz, lyrical, modern, toe, classical ballet and show choir. Kayla teaches dance classes and gymnastics at Interactive and loves working with the children!

Ann Germann, Gymnastics Instructor, Pro Shop Coordinator
Ann began gymnastic lessons in 1975 when she was only 5 years old and competed in gymnastics through 8th grade. She switched to diving in high school where she competed at the state level and then into college. She gained experience working with children at the Children’s Learning Program of the Zionsville United Methodist Church. Ann keeps fit with daily aerobics classes and playing with her daughter. Her daughter, Cecelia, is a member of IAG’s artistic team. Ann loves teaching kids how much fun fitness can be!

Mother of 3 children involved in gymnastics at various levels throughout the years. Kate competed herself as a youth. She enjoys teaching children and is very enthusiastic about joining Interactive!

Chris has been involved in Gymnastics since the age of 5.  He has 9 years of competitive Jr. Olympic Gymnastics experience with 7 years competing for IAG.   Chris started coaching for the boys recreational program at IAG in November 2004.  A graduate from Carmel High School in 2005, Chris plans on pursuing a Major in Creative writing at Purdue University.

Jamie Cooper
Jamie became involved in gymnastics as a cheerleader at Tri-West High School where she competed at both the state and national levels.  Jamie is also a volunteer teacher’s assistant at North Salem Elementary School where all four of her sons attend school.  Jamie has also been very active over the years in many church sponsored youth programs.  In addition, Jamie holds an Associates Degree from Indiana Business College.  Jamie enjoys teaching preschool gymnastics classes at Interactive!

Rena D'Eramo
Rena took dance and tumbling classes starting at age 4, and she continued to use her gymnastics skills in cheerleading for 6 years. She attended Purdue University, and received a Bachelors Degree in Interior Design. Ever since her first babysitting job at the age of 13, Rena has enjoyed working with children. She has worked with children of many different ages, since having her first child in 1998. Rena currently lives in Carmel with her husband, Tony, and her 3 children. She enjoys singing in a show chorus, going on vacations, and scrapbooking.

Rachel Parker, After School Teacher, Front Desk Staff, Gymnastics Instructor
Rachel took recreational tumbling at an early age. She started working with special needs children as a teacher's aide for Lebanon Community Schools early in her career. Rachel's 3 daughters are active members of IAG. Kailyn, 6, is a member of IAG Girls Team Level 4. Hannah, 4, is in the supertots and ballet classes. Alyssa, 2, is in preschool gymnastics. Rachel has been married to Steve since May of 1999. She is a life long resident of Boone County, residing in Lebanon. Rachel is very committed to Interactive and works in various roles for IA and IAG. We love her enthusiasm and postive attitude when she is working with our kids!

Rachelle L. Meyer, Pilates Instructor, Gymnastics Instructor
Rachelle lives in Zionsville with her husband, Chris and her 3 children; Marcus, 21, Jessica 17 and Chandler, 14. She graduated from Avon High School and attended Marian College to study art. Rachelle had been a gymnast from age 7 to 15 competing at Level 7 for J&M Gymnastics. She was also a high school cheerleader and she ran track.

Other jobs included a dental assistant, cosmetologist and owner of a mortgage company.

Rachelle is a Certified Pilates Instructor. Before working at InterActive Academy she worked at the Workout Center for 3 years. Rachelle teaches body sculpting and gymnastics classes.

Jackie began gymnastics when she was 4. She was a varsity cheerleader through high school, and coached cheerleading for 2 years. She has always had a passion for both gymnastics and cheerleading. Both of her children go to Interactive Academy, and are involved in the gymnastics, cheerleading, and dance programs. She loves working with kids and seeing their excitement for gymnastics.

Susan Barnes, Front Desk Staff
Susan lives in Carmel with her husband and 2 daughters ages 7 and 4. Susan began working part-time at the front desk back in August of 2006. Before that she had worked as an Executive Assistant for 10 years. Her youngest daughter attends pre-school at InterActive Academy and both of her daughters take gymnastics. Susan spends her spare time with her family and friends and enjoys outdoor activities.

Kathy Dieser became involved with gymnastics at an early age, and has been in the sport for 11 years. During this time, she has been a competetive gymnast for 8 years, and is currently a level 9 competitor, going on 10. Currently, she practices at Interactive, but loves coaching as well! She will be a Carmel high school graduate in the spring of 2007, and will stay at interactive an extra year, while pursuing a division I NCAA gymnastics team in the fall of 2008! Kathy loves inspiring younger gymnasts to do their best, and teaching them that with hard work, determination, and some help from coaches, you can go far in gymnastics.

Gabby Maurer, Gymnastics Instructor, Cheerleading Coach
Gabby currently attends Carmel High School. She has been a competitive cheerleader for four years, and was a competitive gymnast for approximately three years. Gabby enjoys working with kids, teaching them and challenging them with new skills. Her enthusiasm and passion for kids and gymnastics is evident when she's teaching at Interactive!
